What is reciprocal altruism-1380836163

In evolutionary biology, reciprocal altruism is a behaviour whereby an organism acts in a manner that temporarily reduces its fitness while increasing another organism's fitness, with the expectation that the other organism will act in a similar manner at a later time.

The disadvantage to the altruistic organism must be less than the advantage to the recipient and the same must be true when the favour is returned so that there is a net benefit from the behaviour in the long run.
